SESSION I – 8:30 am – Wrestlers 12 & Under
Check brackets and make any changes. No changes will be made after 9 am.
SESSION II – 12:00 PM – Wrestlers 13 & Over
Check brackets and make any changes.
WEIGH-INS: Weigh-ins will be on site 5:30-7:30 PM on the Friday before the event. There will be NO Saturday weigh-ins. There will also be remote weigh-in sites throughout the state. Proof of age must be submitted at weigh-in.

PROOF OF AGE: All wrestlers (except Open division) must submit proof of age at weigh-ins on Friday. Kentucky driver’s license, birth certificate, AAU card or USA wrestling cards are acceptable. If wrestlers are under age 18, parents must sign on the provided line on the entry form that the parent has read the medical release form and waiver statement and agrees with its contents.
FORMAT: Round robin brackets
PAIRINGS: Pairings will be done on Friday night. Tournament officials may combine weight classes or age groups if not enough participants in a category. Brackets will be posted on Saturday morning. All entries are final at weigh-ins. Changes must be made by 10 am on Saturday morning. The tournament director(s) have the final decision on any weight class. This is a bracketed tournament and pairings will follow high school rules as set forth by the KHSAA. There will be separation by counties where possible.
RULES: Mat rules will be KHSAA rules for scholastic wrestling (folkstyle). Length of periods may change depending on the number of participants.
EQUIPMENT: All entries except Schoolboy, Novice, Midget, and Bantam must wear a singlet. Headgear is required for Bantam through Schoolboy and can be purchased at local sporting goods stores.
AWARDS: Wrestling will be to four places with medals awarded to the top three. Awards will be presented as they are earned.

Divisions
Weight classes and divisions for wrestling at BGSG will be determined by using the Madison system. We will use a wrestlers weight, age, and experience to best group wrestlers of pools of 3-6 wrestlers. The pools will be drawn after the weigh-ins are complete on Friday night.
Wrestlers will be pooled within two years of age together and within 10% of weight (this may be slightly altered depended on participation). Also, the commissioner will be taking into consideration the amount of experience to help try to evenly determine pools.
This system is designed to get the best and most matches based off the participants at the event. Once pools are set, they will wrestle round robin to determine placement.

- John Smith – Age 12 – 125 lbs – 2 yrs exp
- Joe Smith – Age 14 – 120 lbs – 3 yrs exp
- Jack Smith – Age 13 – 128 lbs – 2 yrs exp
- Josh Smith – Age 12 – 118 lbs – 3 yrs exp
- Age is within 2 yrs of all wrestlers
- Weight is within 10%
- Experience is reasonably close
